Lenses are generally available in two categories:

Single Vision

Single Vision lenses are prescribed to correct your vision at one focal length. Single vision lenses are prescribed for both long sightedness and short sightedness for everyday tasks such as reading and driving.  Read more about Nikon's SEEMAX Single Vision Lenses.

Multiple Distances

Multiple distance lenses such as mulitfocals, bi-focals, progressive or computer lenses are prescribed to correct at least two focal distances. These lenses are prescribed to patients who have difficulties seeing at multiple distances.  Read more about Nikon's SEEWIDE Progressive Lenses.

At Vision Optics, we understand that new glasses wearers can take time to adapt to progressive lenses and many are after the thinnest lens possible.  For this reason, we also recommend Nikon PRESIO GO DIGITAL Progressive Lenses.  For those who select a smaller and often quite fashionable frame, we recommend Nikon PRESIO-i Progressive Lenses.

Lens Options

Thinner Lenses

Thinner lenses are recommended to those patients with higher prescriptions. There are a variety of materials available depending on the strength of your prescription.  At Vision Optics, we recommend the most suitable lens for you. Thinner lens will result in a lighter, flatter and slimmer lens design, all of which are a main feature of the Nikon lens range.

Multicoat

Multicoating is an optional coating that can be added to your lens to reduce reflections from artificial light.  The Nikon SEECOAT Premium Coating features a superior hard coating which protects your lens from scratches.  SEECOAT Progressive Coating also  features a super hydrophobic coating which strongly repels water and dirt this allowing you to see life at its best no matter how you spend your day.

Photochromatic

Photochromatic lenses (transitions) are activated by UV light and darken according to the degree of sunlight. This option allows you to have your everyday pair and your sunglasses combined to the one multifunctional pair.
